For years, the annual ACFW pre-conference mix and mingle was hosted by Laurie Tomlinson. This year, she’s handed the reins to me. (Clearly, she doesn’t know my history of taking great things and breaking them, losing them, or spilling nacho cheese on them).

In case you’re new here and have no idea what this is all about, it’s just a little link up with questions that help us get to know each other before conference arrives. Knowing people before, during, and after the conference is key so we have people to help us celebrate our successes or pick us up when we feel like quitting.

At the bottom of this post, there’s a little link-up with friends who will be there and their own get-to-know-you posts.

Here’s how to play:

– Copy/paste the questions and fill out your own answers in a post on your own website and paste the URL to that specific post (not your homepage) using this handy link-up tool. Just click on the button below that says “Add your link”. If you don’t have a website, feel free to answer the questions in the comments below!

– Make sure to link back to this post after you fill out your answers so any of your readers who are conference attendees can participate, too! The more, the merrier.

– Click through the links below to get to know other conference attendees!

Here are my answers!

Name: Janine Rosche

Location: Toledo, Ohio

What you write/tagline/trademark: I write contemporary inspirational rustic romance. Right now that means my series is set along the Madison River in Montana. The next series will be set in Colorado, mostly so I can visit Bethany Turner.

Place in the book world: My debut novel, This Wandering Heart, releases May 5th, 2020. I’ll have two more books in the Madison River Romance series follow that one.

On a scale of hugger to 10-foot-pole, please rate your personal space: I’m a hugger, but an extremely awkward one. Of all the people I’ve kissed in my life, half were from awkward hugs where I didn’t know where to put my face. Be warned.

Something VERY serious: How do you take your Starbucks? That doubly-chocolately-chippety thing is my favorite. Now if they could add pumpkin spice to that? Heaven.

The unique talking points that will get you going for hours: I’ve lived all over the country. If I haven’t lived there, I’ve probably visited. Tell me where you’re from and we’re off. I also love gushing about romance novels, movies, musicals, television, and fictional heroes.

Loved ones at home you’ll be missing: My husband, my three boys, one daughter, my mom, and the three best coworkers ever–my labradors.

Conference goals we can pray for? I’m thinking I should learn how commas work. But seriously, I’m hoping to experience sweet fellowship with other authors. I may even bring a guitar so we can all worship together late at night. Not that I know how to play guitar. It can’t be that hard, right? I’d also like to be an encourager to people who need it and make the first-timers feel welcome.

Anything we can celebrate with you? My book is up for preorder! So far, it still has a generic cover, but it’s making it all seem so real!

One or two ways we can help you build your platform? If you love romance, join my online book club on facebook: Janine Rosche’s Somewhat a Book Club or sign up for my newsletter.
